2021 New Electric Cars Coming

 

There are so many new and exciting electric vehicles coming out in 2021. This article highlights the top electric vehicles, along with some of their best features. Electric vehicles are the future of automobiles. In fact, many of them are going to become available in 2021. There will be electric cars, electric SUVs, and electric pickups. There will also be a wide variety of plug-in hybrid models that are designed to mostly run on electric power long enough till the gasoline engine starts and it runs on the engine. 

Here is a list of some electric vehicles to look out for in the year 2021, but keep in mind the prices of these vehicles are mostly estimated. 

Audi Q4 E-Tron  

Audi is going to increase the E-Tron lineup by introducing the Q4 E-Tron. It is a close cousin to the Volkswagen ID.4. Q4 E-Tron is an electric SUV and is built on the Volkswagen MEB modular electric vehicle platform. It will be competing against Volvo XC40 Recharge and Tesla Model Y based on the size. The driving range for the Q4 E-Tron has not been announced yet, but the range estimate seems to be 280 miles. These estimates are based on E.U. test standards and not U.S. test standards. The estimated range is comparatively less to Model Y. The cost is $45,000. Q4 E-Tron will be on sale early in 2021.

Audi E-Tron GT 

The next electric vehicle on our list is also by Audi and an addition to the E-Tron lineup. The E-Tron GT is a Sportback sedan developed in competition with the Porsche Taycan. The E-Tron GT will sport electric motors on both axles with a combined output of 590 hp. Audi has made claims that this car will be able to hit 60 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds. In addition to that, its 800-volt electric architecture is said to have this unique cooling system for enabling repeated high-speed runs. The cost of this car is $75,000. It will be available for sale early in 2021. 

BMW i4 

The BMW i4 is said to have a solid range of 300-plus miles and a fast-charging system that is supposed to add about 60 miles in about 6 short minutes. BMW has promised sportscar performance for the i4 as it has 530 hp and 0-to-60-mph acceleration in just under 4 seconds. In fact, the acceleration numbers are similar to its rival, Tesla’s Model 3. This time BMW is catering not only to the aesthetics of the car but also providing more choices to appeal to a larger audience. The cost of this electric vehicle is $70,000. It will be on sale somewhere around 2021. 

Chevrolet Bolt EUV 

Chevrolet has talked about a new product in the summer of 2021: a Chevrolet Bolt. The usual SUV will have a taller sibling called Bolt EUV. The two of them are going to be built on General Motors’ BEV2 platform. An exclusive feature that was only available for some Cadillac models will now be in the Bolt EUV, which is Super Cruise. It is the hands-free driver assistance technology. There has been no official announcement about the driving range, although the outgoing Bolt has been rated 259 miles. The cost is said to be $40,000. It will be on sale sometime late in 2021. 

Lordstown Endurance 

This electric vehicle is a pickup truck by Lordstown Motors called Endurance. It has been designed to target commercial fleets. It is said that it will have a total of four hub motors, which will produce a combined 600 hp. It will be designed to tow 7,500 pounds. It will have a driving range of 250 plus miles. The cost is said to be $52,500. Endurance will be available for sale somewhere in the middle of 2021. 

Lucid Air 

Lucid Air is this sleek sedan that will soon be available on sale in several designs. This all-wheel-drive car will be a competition for luxurious cars like the Mercedes-Benz S-class and Tesla Model S. The first design is going to be the most expensive at the price of $169,000. It will be sporting a dual-motor with a combined 1,080 hp. 

The other versions are going to be less powerful. There will be another dual-motor model of 800 hp and a few models with a single motor, which will either have 480 hp or 620 hp. 

The 900-volt electric architecture of Lucid Air was engineered in-house. In fact, Lucid Air has been successfully tested and proved on Formula E cars. The base version is going to have 400 plus miles of driving range along with a proprietary charging system that can add 300 miles of driving range within 20 minutes with the help of a DC fast charger. SUV based models are also going to be available. Lucid Air is said to be on sale in the spring of 2021. 

Mercedes-Benz EQC 

The new and upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQC is an electric version of the Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV. As it has more room than the Jaguar I-Pace, it is more practical. Also, it costs less than the Audi E-Tron. Mercedes claims that the EQC will have a driving range of 250 plus miles. It is also said the infotainment system of the EQC can automatically map out the most efficient routes and also find charging stations. It will cost around $67,900. It will be available for sale during the spring of 2021. 

Nissan Ariya 

Nissan Ariya is an electric SUV that will be the ultimate competition for other battery-powered SUVs. It is more substantial and luxurious than most of its competitors and costs less than the Tesla Model Y. It is said that two versions will be made. The first model will be a front-wheel-drive with one motor of 2,015 hp. The other model will be an all-wheel-drive with a dual-motor of 389 hp. The front-wheel-drive model will have a long-range battery and already has environmental protection. The driving range is said to be 300 miles. The cost is said to be from $40,000 to $50,000. Both the models will be available for sale late in 2021.
